A close defeat in the first game was in the minds when SPCC showed up for a double header. First they were playing Zenmonics and it was expected of SPCC to win the game, but SPCC will end up winning the game with such dominance was something that did not cross their minds. Rupesh won the toss and elected to bat first and SPCC walked out with a new pair, Rupesh and Vishnu. The openers started out confidently and kept scoring at a brisk pace. Rupesh in particular was the aggressive partner and kept hitting the ball out of the ground at will. Vishnu on the other end was placing his innings brilliantly and cracked some scintillating shots all around. Both the batters were offered several lives and that trend continued for Zenmonics throughout their fielding. Rupesh scored a rapid fifty and fell for 87 of only 45 balls with one six and 15 fours. That brought Rohan on the field and was given a life first ball. That was going to prove costly and he clattered 40 runs of the next 8 balls scoring a 14 ball 50 and literally taking the wind out of the Zenmonics attack. Vishnu on the other hand had already scored his 50 and was looking in supreme touch hitting effortless boundaries. Rohan fell for 72 off 21 balls in the last over and Vishnu finished with 112 off 54 balls and stayed not out for the innings. SPCC ended up scoring 285 for 2 in 20 overs. Zenmonics had their work cut out from the start and started out with a couple boundaries against Rohan and Ankit. The experiment of starting with a left arm spin did not last long for SPCC and Harsha were brought on. Harsha got the first break through and Rupesh who brought himself on from the other hand instantly started troubling the batsmen. The slow bowlers commanded their presence and SPCC was able to restrict Zenmonics for 123 with Rupesh getting four scalps and Subashish and Pawan getting two wickets each. It was the SPCC of old who won their first game with authority.
