SPCCREDS V PACC

SPCCREDS V PACC

The game started with Reds finding it difficult to get 11 players for the game and eventually after enough coaxing from Anand (future manager) Hiren showed up for the game. Reds lost the toss and PACC elected to field. Reds opened with Anand and Ankit who had a decent spell rounding off with an excellent return catch by Ankit and Anand also picking up a wicket. PACC began to rebuild their innings after a costly miss in outfield but some excellent bowling from chetan and amit put breaks on PACC scoring. After 15 overs PACC were 97/5 with their best batsman wasim back in the hut. The crucial 16th over was bowled by harsha and went for quite a few which gave PACC a sneak in. Poor effort in the field by SPCC allowed PACC get to 150 in 20 overs. SPCC opened with anand and ankit and started off well with 12/0 in 2 overs. The next 3 overs were the worst for SPCC as they added only 2 runs for 4 wkts due to good bowling and some bad shot selection. At 15/4 in 5 overs, SPCC had almost gift wrapped the game to the opposition. Baseer played a cameo but double strike by Wasim in one over meant SPCC were again on the backfoot at 40/6 (basser & miten out). Harsha and Hiren tried to make a game out of it with hiren playing a terrific knock to get SPCC within 60 runs in 6 overs. Harsha departed soon trying to increase the scoring rate and so did Hiren. At this stage only last 2 wickets were remaining with SPCC requiring 50 in 5 overs. Eventually SPCC folded with 40 runs to spare. A little effort in the field and some sensible batting would have easily won the game for SPCC but as has been the trend this season they were let down by their own inconsistencies which caused their exit from the T20 competiton.
