SPCC Reds hosted WGCC on their home ground, Kilborne park, on 7th April 2013. Reds won the toss and elected to bat. Shiv and Sankett opened the batting for Reds. Both batsmen were looking in fine nick. However they were back in the pavilion soon. Sankett was the first wicket to fall after scoring 12 followed by Shiv who made 21. Pramod and Anand tried to stabilize the innings. Ankit and Chetan were offered an opportunity to bat up the order and they did show some potential. The batsmen of the day was Shirshant who top scored with 62 off 37 balls and was out in the last over. The other significant contributors were Pramod with 47 and Harsha with 35. Pretty much every batsman looked in fine touch. SPCC Reds scored 270/9 in 35 overs. Ankit and Anand, the usual suspects, opened the bowling attack for SPCC Reds. Both started well. They got the first 3 batsman out for a duck each. It was a dream start for SPCC. WGCC were 17/3. Anand was on fire. He took 4 wickets for 22 in the 7 overs that he had bowled. He could have had a 5-fer had a catch not have been dropped. Chetan continued his good form with the ball and took 2 wickets. Harsha bowled with good control and took a wicket. Rajesh and Kunal made their bowling debuts in this game and had a decent spell. Rajesh applied good pressure on the batsmen by bowling a tight line and Kunal finished the game by taking the last 2 wickets. SPCC Reds finished WGCC for 151 in less than 30 overs. Pramod continued his good form in the field with 3 catches. The overall team performance in this game was excellent. Anand was adjudicated as the Man of the Match for his terrific spell of 4/22.
